"Scrappy was one of my three favorite dogs of all time. He was very people friendly and loved playing the spring pole. A spring pole is a strong spring (like a garage door spring) hanging from a tree or some type of post. Most Pit Bulls love playing Tug-o-War with the spring. Like a treadmill, some people wrongly assume it is used to train for dog fighting. While this is true, there are many people such as myself who would never fight their dog; but use the spring pole as a means for the dog to enjoy recreation, burn off excess energy and stay healthy." read more...

General Information about Dogs
General information that doesn't fit in the other categories. If you can't find what you're looking for, it just might be in here.

Puppy Place
All about puppies! If you're new to owning a puppy this is a great place to start!

Obedience Training
Obedience includes the 5 basics (Sit, Stay, Down, Heel, Come) and anything that has to do with Obedience competitions.

Trick Training
Trick training is any fun things you can teach your dog that aren't considered obedience. Example: Roll Over, Wave, Sit Pretty, etc.

Dog Behavior
Dog Behavior is anything that concerns how a dog acts and why. Many basic problems such as chewing and barking are discussed here.

Health & Nutrition
Health and Nutrition consists of nutritional information about both home made diets and store bought foods, as well as general vet care.

Grooming & Care
Grooming and Care consists of the basics about raising a dog when it comes to keeping them clean, groomed, and the basic things that they require.

Rescue & Shelter
Rescue and Shelter is all about the dog over population problem, how to fix it, and how to save a life. There are millions of dogs and cats who would make great family companions who are sitting in cages without a place to call home. Get involved and save a life!

Breeds
Currently the Breeds List consists of all breeds that are recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club. Until this list is complete there will not be breeds and standards from other kennel clubs. If you'd like to add information on your favorite breed that may not be added yet, please feel free to do so! (read the information provided on how to do this, first)

Conformation
Conformation is the sport of showmanship, where purebred dogs are judged on looks and build to see if they fit the breed standard and therefore meet the requirements for breeding.

Dog Sports
Dog Sports are any activity you can participate in and compete in with your dog. Examples are Dog Agility, Disc Dogs, Flyball etc.

Breeding
What makes a good, reputable breeder? Come in and find out!

Debates
Debates are any heated discussion that may have gone on at DGGTF. Heated discussions are topics that many people may feel very differently about. Civilized debates are one of the best way to learn new information and "think outside the box" on topics you may have otherwise never thought more about.
