"Scrappy was one of my three favorite dogs of all time. He was very people friendly and loved playing the spring pole. A spring pole is a strong spring (like a garage door spring) hanging from a tree or some type of post. Most Pit Bulls love playing Tug-o-War with the spring. Like a treadmill, some people wrongly assume it is used to train for dog fighting. While this is true, there are many people such as myself who would never fight their dog; but use the spring pole as a means for the dog to enjoy recreation, burn off excess energy and stay healthy." read more...

Showmanship, would that be considered a sport?

Ooooooh, okay. Makes sense now, I was thinking like "Sportsmanship" and I was like "uhhh Keet that's not really a sport, but I guess it could be something useful to cover..." lol

I'm not sure if it would be classified as a sport or not. Would you classify it as such? When I think dog sport I think running, leaping, accomplishing and showing some athletic skill or some kind of job the dog was originally bred for... not getting pretty and walking around a ring and having someone feel you :P Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the importance of "showmanship", I'm just not sure if it would be classified as a sport. I could probably add it though, I'm sure there are people out there who have questions about it or what not.

ETA - Also, I'm thinking of putting each page about dog sports on a page from my website (if the darn thing will start working again >:()... I think it would be a lot easier to add discriptions AND pictures, and it would just look a lot nicer than it does on here. What do you think about that?
