Hey all... it's been a while and have missed ya's.
Last night Brandy and I went through one of the most intense thunder and lightning storms since I've had her. Thankfully, it didn't start until shortly after I got home, as she was spooked like no other time I've seen. She was panting like she'd run a quadruple marathon, and didn't want to leave my side (or play in the yard or house). We were outside briefly, and she disappeared into a corner of the yard for a while, and didn't seem to want to come back in. All this time, I did my best to calm and reassure her, but she trembled with every clasp and bolt. It was somewhat un-nerving, as she hasn't really had much of a problem with storms before. Granted, the thunder was literally shaking the walls, and the lightning turned night into day, but I'm just wondering if there is something anyone can suggest as to anything I can do the next time this happens.

There's a thing called "Rescue Remedy" that I've heard of. Haven't tried it myself (both dogs get up in a bother during storms) but have heard nothing but good. It's suppose to calm nervous dogs.

I have used Rescue Remedy in the past several times, and I am planning on using it this weekend for all three cats to make the long 12+ hour trip from Alberta to B.C. in the truck.
It's an herbal anti-anxiety drop/tablet, all-natural, made from plant extracts - safe for babies and adults ... people & animals. You don't even have to FEED it, you can put the drops on the base of their ears.
You can get it at any decent health food store for people or pets. It's about $15 for the little bottle, but so worth it for peace of mind for you & your pets.
I plan on dosing myself for the trek through the mountains because I have anxiety with all the wildlife on the roads (hyperventilating & extreme tension).
I highly recommend this stuff.
