Taurine (2-Aminoethanesulfonic Acid) is an organic acid. It is also a major constituent of bile and can be found in the lower intestine and in small amounts in the tissue of many animals and humans as well.

Pellagra is a vitamin deficiency disease caused by dietary lack of Niacin (B3) and protein, especially proteins containing the essential amino acid Tryptophan. Symptoms include high sensitivity to light; aggression; dermatitis, alopecia, oedema; red skin lesions; smooth, beefy red glossitis; insomnia; weakness; mental confusion; ataxia; paralysis of extremities, peripheral neuritis; diarrhea; eventually dementia.
