Harley got neutered today. We've had him home for about an hour and so far he seems fine.

Awe, I'm sure he'll be just fine. Most dogs bounce back fairly quickly from a neuter.
And good for you for getting him neutered too! You'll have the ease of mind knowing you won't ever have to be concerned with unwanted puppies!

Well, we had to get him neutered because he was sold to us on a neuter contract because he is a "pet quality" dog. We could not get his AKC papers if we didn't get him neutered (still waiting to hear back from the breeder so we can get his application). So, if we were irresponsible enough to breed him, even if it was to another AKC corgi, the pups would not be eligible. He is not breeding quality because he is a "fluffy", which is a big no-no in the breed standard, so no responsible owner would ever breed their girl to him.
Even if we got him from a crappy breeder that did not require us to neuter him (which we would have never done), we still would have gotten it done. In my opinion, only reputable breeders should have an intact male or female in their home. Accidents can and do happen. I would never contribute to the overpopulation of unwanted dogs.

It is a bit of a debatable subject actually, but for the sake of those who may be lurking and unaware of whether they should s/n I will say this; I agree with you There's no reason to contribute to the pet overpopulation unless you are breeding to "better the breed", and like you said, Fluffies aren't in the breed standard so breeding one would not be in the interest of the breed. I know you're a responsible owner, I have no doubt about that, it's just kind of my default to make comments like that on public dog forums in case there's anyone reading By the way, how's Harley doing today?

Harley is doing just fine. It's been hard to keep him from jumping all over Bo and from running around the back yard like a wild thing, but other than that he's fine. He gets his stitches out next week.
Luckily he hasn't had any other stomach issues since his last round of antibiotics (knock on wood). He and Bo are now eating Merrick Turduckin, which contains barley and oatmeal, and they both really like it and are digesting it much better than the grain free stuff.

We went on hikes into the woods behind our house, crawling under barbed wire fences and through tangled undergrowth. Heat new york escorts humidity found their way throught he leaves to our flushed faces. We waded in streams that we were always surprised to come new york escort across. We walked past cars and auto parts that had been abandoned in the woods.
