I'm 18 and getting my wisdom teeth out. Frankly, I'm scared. I've had oral surgery before, chains to pull down my canines, and that wasn't too bad, but apparently wisdom teeth are much worse. I can handle cavity fillings. I'm getting it done with local anisthesea and all my friends act as though it'll be horrific, but I abosolutely refuse general. I dont want to be put out because I have an extreme fear of throwing up and I hear anesthesia makes you sick afterwards.
I've heard horror stories from all my friends who've had it done, dry sockets, terrible pain, massive bleeding, etc. I'm just very scared. And I was wondering, for those of you who have had local anesthetic for wisdom teeth removal, how bad the surgery is and how bad the recovery is? what do they do exactly? what if i freak out in the dental chair? do i have to get them removed? HELP!
