OMG... Linkin and I are house-sitting for my sister and looking after her two cats (Jack and Sally) and her puppy (Zero).
This is basically how my morning went...
6:30am: Zero starts screaming in his crate in the adition.
6:43am: Zero stops screaming
6:50am: Linkin starts whining and pacing
7:00am: Linkin jumps on the bed and nuzles my face and cries in my ear
7:20am: Linkin sits by the bed, stares at me and cries
7:24am: I finally drag my butt out of bed because sleep is completely out of the question at this point.
7:25am: I let Zero out of his crate, put my coat on and clip the leash onto Linkin (all the while Zero is jumping on both of us with cries of excitement and I keep thinking "please don't pee before I get you out the door")
7:27am: I open the door and Linkin BOLTS outside with my hand in the leash and it scrapes against the door frame causing an instant spray of blood and a lot of words that a young puppy probably shouldn't hear
7:29am: I'm standing in the freezing cold watching the blood run down my hand while mustering my best happy voice of "go Pee Zero, do your business Linkin, GOOD BOYS"
7:31am: I come inside and decide to feed Linkin in the bathroom away from Zero because last night he gave Zero a growl for going too close to his food bag. Coal is food aggressive so it made me wonder if he's taught Linkin this nasty little habit.
7:36am: I've successfuly fed Linkin in the bathroom and as I open the door to go feed Zero he RUSHES in straight to Linkin's dish where instead of a nice bite of food he gets a nasty bite from Linkin on the face (he's okay... it mostly scared him and he got a lot of goobery food on his face)
7:38am: I feed Zero and then put him outside so I can feed the cats and make my own food.
7:55am: the cats have been fed, and I've been fed so it's time to let Zero back in... alas; when I open the back door he's no where to be found but a faint crying can be heard from the FRONT door
8:30am: I've rescued Zero at this point, dogs are playing and I've gotten ready for work (work starts at 10:00am). So I decide to take the dogs for a walk.
8:40am: I've finally struggled and managed to get the leashes and collars needed on the dogs, untangled the leashes about 4 times and we're ready to go.
8:45am: Both dogs have relieved themselves on the walk and have been tangled and untangled several times. We turn around the corner to see a large, bully type dog standing there eyeing us up. Being as I'm having trouble controling TWO young dogs already I really didn't want to have to deal with another so I waited and watched. He lowered his head, hackled up and began to stalk us. So I figured the safest bet was probably to turn around and go home (sorry guys for such a cheap walk!).
After getting home things were relatively normal. Zero is outside right now (tied up now) and Linkin's pacing and crying... oh, did I mention at some point in this, Zero peed IN my shoe?
Kat so owes me...
