I'm just wondering how often everyone here cleans their dogs belongings? This means; crates, dishes, blankets etc. I must admit mine need to be done more often than they are. I usually wash their blankets the same day I bathe them in order to keep them smelling clean and fresh just a bit longer Today I'm having a "dog cleaning day" which consists of blankets being washed, crates being scrubbed, dishes and placemats being scrubbed, Linkin's tie out area being poop scooped and cleaned up, and bathing the dogs themselves. It probably wouldn't be such a chore if I did a bit here and there within a weeks span every so often. The dishes should probably be cleaned more often than crates and blankets but other than that they all NEED to be done about every 2-3 weeks rather than the once a month I've been doing lately. So, the question is; how often do YOU have a Dog Cleaning Day?

<.<; Honestly? When ever I think about it. I guess I never do them on the same days, I do however, also wash my blankets, leashes and collars the same day I bathe them.

You wash your leashes? I never wash my leashes I use to do collars the same day as bath time but they have leather collars now so I don't do it as often. I think only time I wash any of my leashes was the long lead after doing tracking with Linkin because it would get so caked with mud and grass

Well, back when I lived with my parents my training leashes used to get so dirty for some reason, and I hate the feeling of a dirty leash in my hand... and now, I was Eins because it is all rainbowy colored and looks like crap if it isn't clean.. >.>;

I wash the blankets about every 3 days. Or when I vacuum, whichever comes first. With a GSD, there is a lot of hair, so, when we vacuum, we call it chasing Rex hair. Baby's crate usually gets scrubbed out about once a month. I do wash their dog dishes everyday, after last feeding. They like to like them clean, but then they are all slimed, I hate that. As for baths, unless they get muddy, they get one about 3 to 4 months. More, in summer, but here in Maine, that doesn't last all that long!

Chasing Rex Hair, haha I like that! Around here we call the dog hair two things; "Tumbleweeds of dog hair" and 'fuzzy slippers". The hair likes to settle on the stairs so by the time you get to the top you have a nice pair of fuzzy slippers on ;D I wish I could bathe my dogs only 3-4 months... they get really smelly after only one month. I think it's because they spend a good portion of the day outside, they prefer it that way. They're going to both be very disapointed when I have to move to a place that doesn't have five acres!

I forgot to add that inbetween baths, I use a "Daily Grooming Spray". It helps especially in winter with fly away hair when I slicker brush them. And has the benefit of making them smell good between washings.

Honestly, I do mine a couple times a month. Maybe 3 times at most...unless they decide to make a mess in their crate...like Jack who decided to EAT his blanket and tear it into a million pieces. Thanks buddy!
