As some of you may know (if you checked your e-mail today ) we had a bit of a scare here at DGGTF.
What happened was I was trying out some new code that would make the forum just that much prettier, and it turns out I shouldn't play with codes I don't 100% understand. It completely deleted my Admin Center (where I do all the changes on the forum) and because my computer had froze and I had to do the whole CTRL + ALT + DEL I lost all my IE pages. This means I couldn't simply hit the back button to delete the code once I'd realized what it had done.
Every time I do big changes on the forum I put the board into Maintenance mode first, which means no one can log in. So here the board was stuck, basically in limbo. I couldn't do anything, and regular members couldn't even log in. The Admin center being deleted wouldn't have affected your guys posting and viewing if I hadn't put the forum into maintenance.
So, off I went to ProBoards Support Boards, again. I've been there several times with questions but never anything as important as this. It was about 1:00am my time when this happened so I didn't get any replies right away (usually you can find you're getting replies within 10 minutes after posting a questions... ProBoards is just that great for it's support forum ;D ). When I came on this morning I had gotten a couple of replies that helped me get into my Admin Center to delete the code and take the forum out of Maintenance Mode.
You'll see in the e-mail i sent everyone there's a link and instructions to a Back Up Board. Even though this disaster was quickly fixed, I think it would still be worth your while to sign up on the back up board (preferbly with the same username) just in case anything like this happens again.
In case something like this does happen again, you will get another e-mail explaining that it is actually a problem worth going to the back up board for, but regardless feel free to go there right away in case of an emergency to ask what's going on anyway
Sorry for the hasel, I don't think I'll be playing with codes I don't totally understand like that again
