What type of tricks do your dogs have under their belts? (Remember; tricks! Obedience or sports like Agility don't count ). Coal:Shake Wave Back Up Spin Balance Biscuit on his nose (still has trouble catching it) Play Dead ("Bang") Roll Over Weave between my legs when I'm standing still and when I'm walking (this is harder for me as he's a big dog and I'm a small girl lol) Linkin:Speak Shake Wave Back up (not as good as Coal though, he backs up a few steps and then starts spining backwards ). Roll Over "Use Your Inside Voice" I feel like I'm forgetting some, so if I remember anymore I'll add to the list Linkin is currently in the process of learning to crawl, and Coal is learning to Limp. This is part of a "Trick Club" on another forum I'm part of. If you guys would be interested in doing a "Trick Club" as well, let me know Basically what you do is have a few tricks of different levels to choose from and everyone has a month to teach them to their dog. You can discuss it along the way and post videos etc. of your progress. If you're interested, let me know and I'll start a new thread for it They're also learning how to take an object and hold it/walk with it etc. More details on that is in the " Service Dog Training" thread

I would! That sounds like great motivation for me to get started teaching Abby new things again. As of now she knows: High five Wave Shake (those are all like the same motion so it's sort of cheating lol) Touch your nose/cover your eyes (we need to go back and work on this one though because my dad thought it was such a cool trick he would get her to do it at every possible occasion - and now she just does it lazily basically like a wave ) Back up Spin left Spin right Beg/sit up Umm I think that's all. I'd love for her to be able to do more than that though.

wait..............for food and wait and wait and wait, we walk out of the room and wait.....he does this one really well treat on the paw at drop treat on the nose back back (backwards walking) weave..........cant do that through our legs, hes way to tall. Katos back sits nearly at the top of my thigh. counting speaking shake jump up (on benches and boxes and stuff like that) helps us out with grooming, thought to that it would be a handy one for vets etc. get ya tail (regret that one!) and the all important one.....................FETCH!!!!! (if you know Akitas you would know this one is a feat and a half, not normally a breed to consider fetch a fun game, it took alot of coaching, coaxing and treats) We have decided we are going to teach him to use a skate board, he loves pushing things around with front paws on something then pushing it around, thought that he could be a potential sk8ter dude!

OH! we are also in the process of trying to teach Kato to say hello...... he has almost got it, but not quite yet, he says it every now and again by accident......he is one of these dogs (as many Akitas are, and I believe huskies and a few other breeds) that "woo woo" at us alot, he doesnt just bark, he mumbles and grumbles and makes funny noises kind of like a quiet sing songy growl...if that all makes sense..............ahhh will just add this.....Kinda like this one au.youtube.com/watch?v=9BUWXBQ6mOs

Haha, that video is cute. GSDs do the "Woo woo" thing a lot too, not quite like an Akita though. Linkin does this bark that we say means "I can hear you in my yard... get out of my yard." It's just too funny. He makes all kinds of strange noises, especially when Coal's teasing him. I should try and get it on video some day. I'd love to see Kato on a skateboard! Let me know of you guys get that one down! ;D Abker - if you're interested in the trick club, we can do it. I'll start a new thread to throw some ideas around for it.
