Hello!
Our family recently adopted an older puppy--6 mos.--and we adore him, but we're still confused about a few issues and though we've done a fair amount of research, we feel like we haven't quite found the answers that really address our particular set of issues. Instead, we've come across a lot of generalized information and advice which all made sense to begin with, but sort of failed us later on. (Not trying to be vague, but I'll address those issues in the appropriate forums.) So, that's the reason I have joined this dog forum. About our dog: his name is Lalo and he is a rescue pup from a local lap dog rescue organization. He is most likely a cross between a Corgi and a Chihuahua--a "Chigi", as they call it! That's about it! Lalo's Mom

Welcome in lalosmom! I really hope we can help you with your issues with your pup! One of the things most people need to understand about dog training and behavior is that any advice or anything you read about a specific problem might not help YOUR DOG. Just because a method has been proven to help a few dogs doesn't mean it will help all. Just like people, every dog is an individual that thinks and learns in different ways, so it's always best to take a method and manipulate it to fit your specific dog's needs
